Your Guide To Healthy Eyes For Life

My eyesight had been getting worse for months and I didn't take the time to visit my eye doctor. When the headaches started, I finally went for an eye examination and I needed stronger prescription eyeglasses. Hello, my name is Janelle White and my blog focuses on eye health. By neglecting the warning signs of my failing eyesight for months, the problem got worse. I hope that my blog will motivate others to regularly visit their optometrist for an eye exam. When reading my blog, you'll learn about common eye conditions and diseases of the eye. You'll also learn about the symptoms that indicate you need to make an eye doctor appointment immediately. I'll also discuss the importance of regular eye exams for children and how you can tell if your child is having sight problems. Thanks for reading my blog and take care of your eyes.

Three Tips For Dealing With Contacts While On A Vacation

Contact care can be simple when you are going from home to work and back. If you do not tend to stray from your daily routine, putting in and taking out contacts can be a cinch. The only problem with your eyewear comes when you must break your routine. Though vacations are fun, for those who have sight issues, it requires extra planning. Here are three steps to dealing with wearing contacts while on a vacation.

Bring a box of throwaway contacts

The one way to make vacation easy and fun is to not have to worry about soaking your contacts and keeping them clean. For this reason, you should bring a box of daily disposable contacts. These contacts can be worn once and thrown away in the trash can when you are done. Be sure to bring along your contact solution along with the box that meets the standards of in-flight liquids. Each day after you get into your accommodations, throw away the contacts and prepare a new set for the next day.

Wear glasses at night

Instead of having to change into contacts several times from day to night, you should bring along a pair of glasses and wear them at night. Glasses will allow you to have perfect eyesight without utilizing any of your daily wear contacts. This stops you from possibly irritating your eyes with constant contact changes throughout the day. Bring along a pair of glasses that you can pair with your going out clothing so that you feel just as stylish while wearing your glasses.

Take out the contacts and put on sunglasses during activities

If you plan to go to excursion activities, you may want to wear sunglasses rather than your contacts. Activities such as going to the ocean can aggravate your eyes due to the salt. Activities that can knock your contacts out of place can also hurt your eye. Instead, wearing sunglasses during the day during a physical activity can keep the UV rays out of your eyes and still allow you to see well. Be sure to have a band on the back of your glasses so that they can be kept around your neck if the jolt of your actions knocks them off. With a pair of good sunglasses you can block out the suns rays, heat, and you can make sure that your eyes remain covered and in good condition without possibly losing a contact.
